Why this robot ?

As s result of my love for chemistry and to satisfy my curiosity and knowledge thirst in Robotics, I built Mr. Chem.
Science laboratories are potentially dangerous places. Many chemical reactions may create toxic gases or catch fire. Thus, the goal of Mr. Chem is to Make the laboratory experience safe and enjoyable !


For who ? 

Mr. Chem is an assistance of the students, teachers, scientists, Technicians and anyone who wants to do an experiment in a safe environment.


The structure

LEGO® MINDSTORMS® NXT.
Three main parts:
The first part, to pour the chemical solutions into the beaker.
The second part, to blend the chemical substances to obtain a mixture.
The third part, control the movement.
Contains a timer to control the experiment in advance.
Provide a high degree of protection against bacteria and microbes. 



What's in the future ?

Program the robot to do specific steps or full experiments.
Use the (NXT Thermometer Sensor) to measure the temperature.
In addition, In order to protect Mr. Chem, the structure can be covered by Heat and Flame Resistant Clothing.










Why this robot ?

With the huge amount of works, It could be confusing for the engineers to memorize all the geometry rules and unfeasible to draw the patterns by using the markers and a ruler, as the classical way.
For me, as a future engineer, I would like to have these functions done automatically, quickly and accurately, with the least effort. 


For who ? 

For the engineers and the teachers to help them in the educational purposes.
The picture above shows Mr. Mathics, LEGO® MINDSTORMS® NXT robot, one of my projects, which is an engineer assistant.



The structure


The first part, to measure the dimensions of any geometric shape drawn on the paper, floor or any flat service. The color sensor enables the robot to follow the outline of the shape then the results will be shown on the screen. In addition, the result can be transferred to another dimensions. For example, if the shape is a square, the user can calculate the area of the shape and the volume of the cube.
The second part, to draw a basic shapes which are already programmed and downloaded on the brain of the robot. As for this function, the user can adjust the size as desired.


What's in the future ?

This project is a simple example for an advanced robot which can do more functions and draw complicated shapes .
